How Fastbraces® Works
Here’s A Step-By-Step Guide To Fastbraces® Technology
Visit Tureberg Tandvård & Medicin Center
At your first appointment your dentist will look at your teeth and determine what needs to be done in order to straighten your teeth. The dentist will take images, panoramic x-ray and bite impressions of your teeth and determine the best plan of action.
Designing Treatment
After the consultation, your dentist will design a treatment that is specific to your needs. Not every person has an underbite or an overbite and not every person has gaps in their teeth or overcrowding. Each mouth is different and treatment must be specific to the individual in order to work properly. Your dentist will create a model of the braces from the impression that was taken of your teeth.
Placing the Fastbraces®
This appointment will be much longer than any of the future appointments. It involves conditioning the surface of the teeth, to provide a place to cement on the brackets, cementing the brackets in place, and placing the first wire.
Dentist Appointments
During the time you wear braces, it is very important to stay on top of your dentist appointments. This step is also called the active phase of orthodontic treatment as your dentist is actively moving the teeth into their ideal positions. You’ll need to visit your dentist every two weeks to check that your treatment is progressing as planned with adjustments and elastics as needed. The total treatment time averages from three to six month and even longer for severe orthodontic cases.
Completing Your Treatment
Your treatment ends once your dentist has achieved the perfect bite relationship, the braces can be taken off. During your treatment, your teeth are held in position by your braces, but once they’re removed, some of the more elastic connective tissue in your mouth and jaw that was stretched during your treatment now tries to pull back again – something we call “orthodontic relapse”. To help keep your bright new smile, your dentist will give you to wear removable retainers at night for six months, and then usually a few times a week as instructed.
How It Works
How Long Will It Take?
FASTBRACES® patients are able to achieve their perfect smile in around half the time that it would take conventional brace systems. On average, it takes from three months to up to a year to move teeth into the desired position with the FASTBRACES®CLASSIC™ SERIES™. Treatment time for comprehensive orthodontic therapy could take less than 120 days for non-deep bite cases with the FASTBRACES®TURBO™ SERIES™
