Botulinum toxin is approved by the FDA to treat the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when medicines used on the skin (topical) do not work well enough. Botulinum toxin is injected into the affected areas to help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands do not receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops.

What Is B-TOX?

B-Tox is a treatment given by injection into the skin. It is licensed in the UK for treating localised hyperhidrosis of the armpits (axillae). This drug has been used for many years to treat muscle spasms affecting the face, eyes and neck and for foot problems in children with cerebral palsy. It is also used widely used for cosmetic purposes.

How is B-TOX ADMINISTERED?

All Tureberg Tandvård & Medicin Center treatments follow a detailed pre-treatment consultation. Your consultation starts with a discussion with the doctor of the look you wish to achieve. We will advise you which treatments will be most effective at helping you reach your goals. If you decide to proceed the doctor will make a detailed recording of your medical history and conduct a careful examination of your face.

After cleansing the skin, the B-Tox injections are placed directly into the muscle areas which you have decided to have treated. The needle used is extremely fine and most clients experience only minimal discomfort, if at all.
