DENTAL BRIDGE
If you have lost one or more of your natural teeth, dental bridges provide an effective solution particularly if you would prefer not to wear a denture and prevent remaining teeth to move.
A traditional dental bridge consists of a false tooth that is held in place using crowns, which are joined together to “bridge” a gap in your teeth. A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance which makes them a convenient, long lasting solution to tooth loss.
Reason for dental bridge:
- Cosmetic enhancement
- One or more missing teeth
- Gaps or unwanted spaces
- Restore chewing, speech, and digestion
- Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing tooth space
What Does Getting A Dental Bridge Involve?
Dental bridge procedure usually requires two appointments. During your first appointment, you dentist will ensure that the teeth that will support it are suitable to do so and if not, your treatment will be modified to make sure that their strength is restored prior going with the treatment. You dentist will the strengthen the teeth and make it ready to hold your dental bridge. Then you dentist will take several impressions that will be used to create your custom dental bridge. In the meantime, a temporary bridge will stay on your tooth until new dental bridge is fabricated for you.
At your second appointment, your temporary bridge will be removed and your new dental bridge will be carefully placed, restoring your tooth function to that of natural teeth.
You dentist will give you care instructions upon completion of the treatment. With proper care and attention, dental bridges can last for approximately 10-15 years – which is where we need your assistance.
